Welcome to the Ucluelet Harbour Webcam! Here you'll find cool shots of all sorts of commercial fishing
vessels, boats, seaplanes, bald eagles, sea lions and even whales!

The harbour is a sheltered inlet protected from the open Pacific Ocean.

Here are some cool facts about the Ucluelet Harbour:

~ The name “Ucluelet” comes from the Nuu-chah-nulth word meaning “safe landing place”
~ First Nations have lived here for over 5000 years
~ Cpt. James Barkley of the British Navy landed in 1787, arriving near the Ucluelet Harbour in Barkley

~ The harbour is approximately 7 km long and there are over 20 km's of shoreline
~ The mouth of the harbour it is roughly a half a km across, at the back it widens to 1.5 km
~ Today there are over 2000 inhabitants that call this sheltered harbour home!


This webcam is mounted on the Huu-pa-tuu Business Center, the head office of the Ucluth Development
Corporation. "Huu-pa-tuu" means Sunset Beach in theYuu-thluth-aht First Nation language.
